8am-10am - CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER Feminist Bird Club of Philadelphia Bird Tour
Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic and the Philadelphia Chapter of the Feminist Bird Club on an early migration season hike. We’ll be seeing what is still left over from winter and look for the early spring migrants coming into the area. Binoculars available for loan.
10am-12pm - Mussel Maniacs
Audubon Mid-Atlantic’s monthly freshwater mussel measuring event! Sign up to measure mussels and the water chemistry of the reservoir. This community science data will be used to help guide our mussel propagation program: growing freshwater mussels and placing them within the Delaware River watershed for filtration and cleaner water for all. Registration is required in advance, please fill out the form below to sign up. Observation of the mussel measuring is open to all visitors, but best for those 8 and above with a responsible adult present.
Come dressed for the weather, but other gear will be provided.
10am-3pm - Nature Education for Families
Join Pennsylvania Master Naturalist Educators Carol Cunningham and Beth Wanamaker fly into the world of birds! We’ll dive into what makes birds unique from other animals and each other, as well as swoop into how and where to spot our feathered friends all around us. We’ll do all of this while having some fun with interactive games and crafts along the way. While the content is designed for younger children and their families, all are welcome to participate!
