Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic and partner Fairmount Water Works in measuring our 800 freshwater mussels located here at the Strawberry Mansion Reservoir! Every month we come together to check on these mighty filtering bivalves to make sure our mussel nursery is providing a positive growth rate for them. These mussels are propagated at Fairmount Water Works freshwater mussel hatchery, and will be utilized within the Schuylkill and Delaware River once maturity is reached.
