The Community Engagement Committee (CEC)  serves as an advisory committee to The Discovery Center. CEC members are advocates of The Discovery Center that share with their networks the initiatives, programs, and public events of The Discovery Center, Audubon Mid-Atlantic, and Philadelphia Outward Bound School. Members collaborate with the staff to identify potential future public programming at the Center, and connect staff with opportunities in the surrounding neighborhood.

The 2023 CEC will consist of 12 members that have strong ties to the neighborhoods of Strawberry Mansion, Brewerytown, Sharswood, and/or the zip codes of 19121 and 19132. CEC members are required to attend 6 meetings per year and at least 4 programs throughout the year. Each member will receive a $300 stipend for their participation. Members will be selected in late 2022, with the first meeting at the end of January 2023. We’re especially looking for 3 members ages 16-25! For any questions, please email kelkardah@pobs.org.
